North Texas is coming off yet another come from behind victory against the Old Dominion Monarchs last Saturday and maintains its sole possession of first place in Conference USA West Division. Louisiana Tech is coming off a rout of Rice but the Bulldogs are pretty banged up. It's likely the earlier report of 18 players who are questionable or out for the season will drop down to the high single digits to low double digits by game time Saturday. With a win this Saturday, North Texas will hit six wins and become bowl eligible for the second time in 10 years. A

Mean Green Defense Comes Through in the Clutch to Assure Win Over Monarchs

ODU Win 10-28-2017

The North Texas (5-3 4-1) defense came up big in the fourth quarter allowing the Mean Green to keep control over its destiny of the West Division of Conference USA. The Old Dominion Monarchs (2-6 0-4) failed to convert three key fourth downs in the fourth quarter preventing the upset of the Mean Green.  Scores by Quarter 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Score Old Dominion (2-6) 10 13 15 0 38 North Texas (5-3) 14 21 0 10 45 Rico Bussey Jr. Becomes Third Receiver to Hit 100 Yard Mark Sophomore Rico Bussey, Jr. lead the Mean Green Receiving Corp with seven receptions for 111 yards with a long of 34 yards and a touchdown. North Texas is coming off its worst performance under second year head coach Seth Littrell in a loss to Florida Atlantic Owls in Boca Raton, FL. The Mean Green will be looking to bounce back against the Old Dominion Monarchs, who come to Denton, TX at 2-5 overall and are win-less in Conference USA action. This is the first ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. North Texas still controls its own destiny in the West Division with Southern Miss close behind where the Golden Eagles also have 3-1 conference record. North Texas defeated USM 43-28 on Sept. 30th and

North Texas Suffers Blowout Loss to FAU Owls

This is a game most every Mean Green fan wants to forget and hopefully the players and coaching staff use this as a "teachable moment" where a complete lack of preparation or a bad case of big head cost the team the game and possibly a chance at hosting the Conference Championship in Denton. I'm not going to cover the game as there really isn't much worth going over. FB: North Texas vs FAU 2017 Preview

North Texas (4-2 3-0) is coming off of a come-from-behind win against in-state non-rival UTSA. The Mean Green will be looking to continue their winning ways with the conference's leading offensive unit. North Texas sits atop the West Division FAU (3-3 2-0) welcomes the Mean Green in an East-vs-West Conference USA match-up.  Lane Kiffin is in his first year at FAU and has the owls off to a hot start. FAU features the second hottest offensive unit in Conference USA, so this game could become a shootout. FAU does sport the top rushing unit at 258.7 rushing yards per game. Both teams

Mason Fine Leads Team in Miracle Drive to Defeat UTSA With No Timeouts

UTSA Win - 10-13-2017

Mason Fine lead North Texas (4-2 3-0) on a 98-yard drive to score the winning touchdown in 67 seconds with just 1:07 left on the clock against the UTSA Road Runners (3-2 0-2). #TheDrive may become a defining moment in this season. Prior to #TheDrive, the Mean Green Defense needed to make a critical stop. The defense forced a much needed three-and-out and forced a punt. That punt though pinned North Texas deep in its own territory at the 2-yard line. North Texas continues to control its own destiny with this win making it the third straight win and a perfect record
