Mitchell was coached by Aston when she was a player (1998 – 2002) and also served as an assistant coach (2011) for the one season Aston was the head coach for North Texas in addition to the University of Texas (2012-2015).
Player of the game goes to senior Terriell Bradley who was six of 16 (37.5%) from the floor, three of seven (42.9%) from 3-point land, and made all three of her shots from the free throw line giving her a total of 18 points for the night. She also picked up seven total rebounds, and an assist while playing one minute short of the full game.
Sophomore Trena Mims also had a huge game as the second leading scorer for the Mean Green at 16 points. She was seven of 14 (50%) from the floor and two of three (66.7%) from the free throw line. She collected four total rebounds, two assists, and two steals on 30 minutes of playtime.
