North Texas Off to Best Start in More Than a Decade
The last time North Texas finished with a winning record was 2005-06 under Tina Slinker, where the Mean Green finished with a 19-9 9-6 record. They also finished 10-2 non-conference record that season. Currently, the Mean Green are on pace to finish above the .500 mark barring any significant setbacks. A big reason for the early success has been a suffocating defense. North Texas has held opponents to an average of 50.3 points per game while forcing 21.5 turnovers per game. The Mean Green also are some steady ball hawks with 124 steals on the season (10.3 per game) and have been out rebounding their opponents
Records | Overall | Home | Away | Neutral |
---|---|---|---|---|
All Games | 9-3 | 6-1 | 1-2 | 2-0 |
Non-Conference | 9-3 | 6-1 | 1-2 | 2-0 |
Highlight Reel
Up next for the Mean Green is the LaTech Bulldogs on Wednesday, January 3rd with a 6:30 PM tipoff to start of the Conference USA slate. North Texas has never defeated the Bulldogs and this might be the year that streak comes to an end for the Mean Green. The Mean Green have been playing solid defense but have struggled on offense at times. You can catch the game on 88.1 KNTU and CUSA TV.
