Freshman Guard A. J. Lawson earned his first career start Sunday and rose to the challenge earning him Player of the Game honors. On 26 minutes of play, he was 5 of 10 (50%) from the floor, 2 of 4 (50%) from the land of the three, and 5 of 6 (83.3%) from the Free Throw line giving him a total of 17 points to lead the team. He also had 3 Rebounds (1 Offensive; 2 Defensive), 2 Assists, 1 Block, and a Steal.

Four other players breached the double digits mark — Deckie Johnson (15), Derail Green (12 – Season high), J-Mychal Reese (10), and off the bench Shane Temara (10).

The Mean Green shot an amazing 59.1% (13-22) from behind the arc but at the same time allowed Hartford Hawks to shoot 48.1% (13-27) from land of the three at the same time. The Mean Green also improved on their point production to 28.3  and 38.5  average points for the first and second half, respectively. They allowed 33.2  and 41.0  average points for the first and second half, respectively.
