WBB Middle Tennessee 76 North Texas 52

North Texas (7-9 2-4) fell tonight to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in Denton, TX.  The Mean Green struggled as costly turnovers kept the offense building any kind of momentum.  The Mean Green's second leading scorer, Candice Adams (11.7 ppg), had an off night only managing 4 points on 14 minutes of play.  In the post-game, Jalie Mitchell commented how the team feeds off of the energy Kelsey Criner provides during the game.  I am of the opinion that Adams is also a key leader to the team. Tonight's Player of the Game goes to both Acheil Tac and Terra Ellison, both scoring 11 points each.  Tac was 5 of 10 (50%) from the floor and 1 of 2 (50%) from

Tonight's performance is likely to help move the middle very much. The Mean Green have 13 games to win 9 games in order to finish the regular season at 16-15.  It is quickly becoming evident that the Mean Green will be able to post a better than .500 record this year.  North Texas must not

The Mean Green advanced to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in CUSA play against the Thundering Herd of Marshall this evening.  North Texas ended an 8-game home win streak the Herd had going for the 2015-2016 season.  Marshall was a bit of a paper dragon coming into today's game as they had not faced very many tough opponents and so North Texas was perhaps their first true test at home this season. The Player of the Game really goes to two players, both of whom scored 18 points each -- Candice Adams and Terra Ellison.  Candice finished the game shooting 6 of 12 (50%) from the floor, 1 of 4 (25%) from behind the arc, and 5 of 6 (83.3%) from the Free Throw lines

In a game that saw Triple Over time with four Mean Green players fouling out, the cardiac kids never gave up but still fell to the Rice Owls.  Unfortunately 4 North Texas players (Jones, Tac, Frierson, and Williams) fouled out in the game exposing the short bench Jalie Mitchell has had to work with this season. Kelsey Criner was originally awarded the first ever Triple-Double for the North Texas Women's Basketball program, however after review the Rice statistician adjusted a rebound and gave it to the Sophmore Post player, Tosin Mabodu.  Criner played 53 minutes and recorded 34 points on 11 of 18 (61.1%) shooting from the floor, 2 of 4 (50%) from behind the arc, and 12 of 14 (85.7%) from
