MBB: Men’s Basketball Full 2017-2018 Season Schedule Released

Hits: 77

Tuesday, the University of North Texas announced its complete 2017-2018 Men’s Basketball schedule.

North Texas will travel to play Big 12, Big 10, ACC, and Big East to play Oklahoma, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, and Georgetown, respectively. North Texas also makes a return trip to hopefully avenge the close loss to San Diego last season and North Texas will continue the DFW rivalry with a game at UT-Arlington in early December.

When it comes to the home slate, there are no real games that fans can circle on the calendar and be excited about.

December Road Warriors

North Texas will all but two games on the road for the month of December. Something that is also noteworthy is that North Texas plays San Diego on the 16th and then travels to play Georgetown four days later on the other wide of the country. I’m not sure if this was a good idea and we’ll see what kind of impact this will have on the team.

First Winning Record Since 2011-2012?

The way this schedule is set up, the Mean Green have a fair chance to post a winning record since Johnny Jones coached North Texas. At the very least North Texas is set up to win most of its games in the Super Pit, something the Mean Green failed to do in the final season of the Tony Benford era.
