North Texas was perfect from the line tonight shooting 9 of 9 on its Free Throws however shot well under their season average of 46.6% hitting just 37.1 of their shots. The Mean Green bench was also out scored 2 to 29. \u00a0Turnovers were also another problem for the Mean Green as they doubled up the Blazers 18 to 9.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s player of the game is again <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/stats\/Bball\/Player\/?p=9\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Combs<\/a> but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/stats\/Bball\/Player\/?p=46\" target=\"_blank\">Deckie Johnson<\/a> deserves serious consideration as well.\u00a0Combs shot 7 of 13 (53.8%) from the floor and was a perfect 5 of 5 (100%) from the line while bringing in 12 total Rebounds (5 Offensive; 7 Defensive). \u00a0Tonight he earned his\u00a06th consecutive double-double and 9th of the season. Combs added 3 Assists with 3 Turnovers to his stat sheets for the night.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson was 4 of 15 (26.6%) from the floor, 1 of 8 (12.5%) from behind the arc, and a perfect 4 of 4 (100%) from the stripe while bringing in 11 total Rebounds (5 Offensive; 6 Defensive). \u00a0The 11 rebounds is a season and career best for Johnson and also gives him his first career double-double. Johnson also had 3 Assists with 6 Turnovers and 1 Steal on 37 minutes of play. \u00a0Also in double-digits in tonight&#8217;s contest was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/stats\/Bball\/Player\/?p=50\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Katenda<\/a> with 12 points.<\/p>\n<p>North Texas has 11 just games left to win nine games in order to finish the regular season with a record above .500.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/stats\/Bball\/Player\/?p=49\">Rickey Brice Jr.<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/stats\/Bball\/Player\/?p=1\">Carrington Ward<\/a>\u00a0did not play today.<\/p>\n<p>North Texas returns to action on January 30th at 7:00 PM in Houston, TX to face the Rice Owls. \u00a0North Texas previously faced Rice on January 9th and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ntsportsstats.com\/site\/2016\/01\/10\/mbb-rice-74-north-texas-85\/\" target=\"_blank\">defeated the Owls 85 to 74<\/a>.
