North Texas (6-0) had a bit of an off night on shooting but the defense came up big against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (0-4). The Mean Green held the Hawks to a low of 34 points, the lowest since 1947 when North Texas played Midwestern State and held the Mavericks (then called the Indians) to just 30 points.<\/p>\n
Zachary Simmons<\/a> lead all scorers with 17 points on 31 minutes of action. He was seven of nine (77.8%!) from the floor including a single made three — his first and only attempt of the season and as far as the blog can tell, his only attempt and make of his career — and he made both of his free throw attempts.
